The First Haureka
was held in 2013 as part of a launch of Jobs for Dogs. Haureka seminars are organized in co-operation with K9 Ilma Global Training and Noseworks. From the beginning the seminars have been held in The Science Center Heureka in Vantaa, Finland. A well suited place for the seminar that aims to offer up-to-date science based knowledge on scent detection dog training without forgetting the importance of the practical experience.
It’s the venue that also inspired the name for the seminar: “Hau” is what dogs say in Finnish when barking. A wordplay that can only be understood by Finns (like so many words and manners in this little northern country). However from the first seminar we have aimed to lure participants from all over the world and are happy to see that the amount of foreign quests has grown from seminar to seminar. Thank you for coming to Finland! Special thanks also for those of you who have attended all three seminars: well done! And for our brilliant speakers through the years, one more time: KIITOS!
